Essence International School organized an enlightening workshop on “How to Cope with Aggression and Digital Detox” for the students of Classes IX to XII in the school auditorium. The session was conducted by Dr. Anupama Gadkari, an eminent resource person in the field of emotional well-being and stress management. The workshop was organized under the visionary leadership and guidance of the Directors, Mr. Vijay Menon and Dr. Mrs. Hema Menon. The programme was conducted in the gracious presence of Principal Mrs. Beena Menon and Quality Coordinator Mrs. Jayshri Sastri. The workshop aimed to help students understand their emotions, manage stress effectively, and develop healthy digital habits in today’s technology-driven world.
The session commenced with an interactive discussion on emotions and their impact on human behaviour. Dr. Gadkari explained the difference between positive and negative emotions and emphasized that both are natural aspects of life. She highlighted anger as a primary emotion and encouraged students to identify the situations and triggers that lead to aggressive behaviour. Through active participation and reflective exercises, students gained a deeper understanding of emotional awareness and self-control.

A major focus of the workshop was the impact of anger on both physical and mental health. Dr. Gadkari explained how uncontrolled anger can result in stress, hormonal imbalance, reduced concentration, memory difficulties, aggression, and other health-related issues. She also addressed the growing influence of social media on young minds and stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy balance between digital engagement and real-life experiences.

The resource person shared several practical anger-management techniques, including engaging in physical activities and sports, practising breathing exercises, counting backwards, using positive self-talk, and cultivating optimistic thinking. Students were encouraged to develop healthy coping mechanisms and build their own toolkit for managing emotions effectively. The discussion on digital detox highlighted the need for mindful use of technology and the importance of preserving creativity, focus, and meaningful interpersonal relationships.
The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students enthusiastically sought guidance on improving concentration, managing emotions, and maintaining mental well-being. The session proved to be highly informative and inspiring, equipping students with valuable life skills for emotional resilience, stress management, and responsible digital citizenship.

The programme was gracefully compered by Ms. Sajitha Sreedharan, who also delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Dr. Anupama Gadkari for her insightful guidance and valuable contribution. The workshop left a lasting impact on the students and reinforced the importance of emotional well-being and balanced digital habits in their daily lives.
