9th Inter-School Science Working Model Competition — 2026

Essence International School, a unit of Manghat Mani Educational Institute, successfully organised the 9th Inter-School Science Working Model Competition on 8th September 2026 at the school campus. The event brought together young innovators and scientific minds from schools across Nagpur to design, build, and demonstrate operational models across Junior and Senior categories, turning the campus into a lively showcase of curiosity, teamwork, and hands-on learning.

Inaugural Ceremony

The exhibition opened on a note of reverence and celebration. Following a brief introduction, an invocation prayer set a serene tone for the proceedings, after which the dignitaries and guests were formally welcomed onto the stage. The school choir’s welcome song filled the auditorium with warmth and set an engaging stage for the day’s scientific exploration ahead.

The competition was formally inaugurated by the dignitaries followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp — a moment that symbolically illuminated the spirit of inquiry and innovation the event stood for. In his address, Director Mr. Vijay Menon spoke to students about the value of scientific temperament and encouraged them to carry their curiosity beyond the exhibition floor.

The Judging Panel

The models were evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges, whose academic and industry expertise added great depth and credibility to the assessment process. Throughout the evaluation rounds, the judges engaged closely with participants, offering valuable insights on bridging scientific inquiry with practical, real-world solutions:

  1. Dr. Prashant Vasantrao Shende — Professor and Head, Department of Agricultural Botany, College of Agriculture, Nagpur.
  2. Dr. Piyush Ashok Kokate — Scientist-E, CSIR-NEERI, Nagpur.
  3. Dr. Archana S. Kulkarni — Former Vice-Principal, Dharampeth M. P. Deo Memorial Science College.
  4. Mr. Abhishek Angole — Director, Business & Technology, Lemon Ideas Innovations Pvt. Ltd.

Exhibition Highlights

A total of 15 schools participated in this edition, together presenting 26 working models across the Junior and Senior categories. The exhibition floor came alive with young innovators demonstrating operational models built around real-world problems — from renewable energy and environmental sustainability to disaster management, safety systems, and smart technology. Students confidently explained the science behind their creations to judges, teachers, and visiting delegations, reflecting hours of research, teamwork, and hands-on effort.
