Essence International School organized an Inter-House Millet-Based Food Competition for classes Ill to Vll on 29th September to promote awareness about the nutritional value and health benefits of millets and to encourage healthy eating habits among students.
Students from all four houses participated with great enthusiasm and creativity. To ensure variety, each house was assigned a specific millet:
▪️Agni House – Ragi
▪️Vayu House – Bajra
▪️Prithvi House -Jowar
▪️Varun House – Rajgira
The students brought a wide range of delicious and innovative dishes prepared from their assigned millets in their lunch boxes, such as ladoos, appam, rotis, dosas, idlis,pan cake and healthy snacks.
Along with the dishes, students also presented valuable information about their respective millets, highlighting their nutritional value, rich content of fibre, protein, iron, calcium and other essential minerals, and their role in maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.
The competition was not only enjoyable but also highly educational. It helped students understand the importance of reviving traditional and sustainable grains in our daily diet.
The event witnessed active participation, teamwork and enthusiasm from all houses.
