I have recently completed my B.A. LL.B. (Integrated) degree — a milestone I hold with quiet pride. Yet, as I step forward into the next phase of my journey, my heart fondly returns to where it all began: Essence International School, the place that shaped me into who I am today.

As a part of the school’s second batch, I joined in Grade V carrying what many young students silently carry — hesitation, self-doubt, and the fear of not being enough. However, within those nurturing walls, I never experienced judgment; instead, I found patience, understanding, and encouragement.

My Principal Mrs. Beena Menon and teachers did not merely teach, they invested in my growth. They explained concepts with clarity and kindness, followed up with genuine care, and gradually helped me rebuild my confidence. They did not just make me a better student; they made me feel seen, heard, and valued.

The school itself exuded warmth — a feeling that evolved from familiarity into comfort, and eventually into a deep sense of belonging. It became my second home. The Directors Mr Vijay Menon and Dr. Hema Menon filled with compassion and love fostered an environment where every child felt equal, safe, and free to express themselves.

Life at Essence was never limited to academics alone. Learning went hand in hand with creativity and holistic development — through art, cricket, football, karate, Annual Functions, Sports Days, and Scouts and Guides. Each experience played a vital role in building resilience, confidence, and independence. Festivals were celebrated together, reflecting the school’s true spirit of unity, respect, and inclusivity.

Looking back, I recognise those years as quietly transformative. It was at Essence that I discovered my direction, found my voice, and developed the courage to believe in myself.

I carry forward deep gratitude for my Directors Principal, and every teacher who made a lasting impact on my life. To me, Essence International School is not just a part of my past, it is a cherished foundation of my journey, held with pride, warmth, and lifelong appreciation.
