Nutrition Day Celebration
Date: 9th September 2025

Essence International School celebrated Nutrition Day on 9th September 2025 with great enthusiasm. The program began at 11:00 am and witnessed active participation from students and teachers across all sections.
Student Competitions
- Classes 1 & 2: Drawing competition on “My Healthy Plate”
- Classes 3 & 4: Poster making on “Say No to Junk Food”
- Class 5: Slogan Writing Competition
The judges evaluated all entries carefully and selected the best performances from each category. The winners were awarded First, Second, and Third prizes. These competitions encouraged creativity while spreading the message of healthy eating.

Teachers’ Recipe Contest
Alongside the student activities, teachers enthusiastically participated in a Healthy Recipe Contest under four levels—Foundation, Preparatory, Middle, and Secondary. The theme was “Zero Sugar, High Nutrition & Tiffin-friendly Recipes.” The judges evaluated the recipes on the basis of nutrition, taste, colour, presentation, and quick preparation. Three best entries were awarded.






Chief Guest’s Address
Chief Guest Dr. Kavita Bakshi enlightened the students on the nutritional value of food essential for growth, strength, and overall well-being. She highlighted how unhealthy junk foods like Maggi and cold drinks adversely affect children’s health and stressed the importance of balanced meals.

Guest Talks & Activities
Dr. Kavita Gupta, in her engaging session ,explained the importance of carefully reading the labels on packaged food items.
She highlighted how the nutritional information, such as calories, sugar, fat, and salt content, directly affects health, especially for growing children.
She demonstrated live with food packets, showing students how to identify harmful ingredients like added sugars, preservatives, and artificial flavors. She also encouraged students to opt for fresh, homemade, and balanced diets, rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals, rather than being attracted to packaged snacks.


Dr. Sakina Qubbawala and her team presented a skit on the harmful effects of excess sugar, oil, and junk foods. The skit also emphasized the need for a balanced intake of carbohydrates, proteins, and healthy fats.
Following this, she conducted a quiz based on the skit, where students enthusiastically participated and won prizes for correct answers. She also engaged students with fun tongue twisters, explaining how such activities sharpen the brain and improve critical thinking.


The active participation of students, the guidance of our esteemed judges, and the dedicated efforts of the teachers made the event both informative and enjoyable.
