Sanskrit Day

ज्ञानवानेन सुखवान् ज्ञानवानेव जीवति ।

ज्ञानवानेव बलवान् तस्मात् ज्ञानमयो भव ॥

 

Sanskrit is an ancient and classical language of India in which Rigveda was compiled . Sanskrit Dinam, is an annual event focused around the ancient Indian language Sanskrit that incorporates lectures about the language and is aimed to promote its  revival and maintenance . The day is supposed to be a tribute to the work of the renowned Sanskrit scholar Panini and his legacy.

The students of Essence International School, Nagpur observed Sanskrit Day on 28th August, to  raise awareness about the language used by scholars and saints in ancient India and promote Sanskrit, one of India’s oldest languages. 

The program began with lighting the lamp by the honorable Director, Dr. Mrs. Hema menon, Quality coordinator Mrs. Jayashree shastri, Vice Principals Mrs.Arpana Wilson, Mrs. Shashiprabha Suryavanshi followed by a graceful welcome dance and song. `Ganpati stotram’ performed by the students of Grades l to IV and `Shri Ganpati Atharvashirsham’ performed by the Grades V to X.

The Honorable Director Dr. Mrs. Hema Menon , addressed the students and reiterated the need to protect and respect Sanskrit language to posterity. The Program ended with a vote of thanks.

The chanting of shlokas and singing songs in Sanskrit language filled the whole auditorium with positive vibes.
