Essence International School celebrated the 80th Independence Day of India with great patriotic fervour, enthusiasm, and national pride. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag by Hon. Director Mr. Vijay Menon, followed by the National Anthem. The programme was graced by Hon. Director Dr. Hema Menon, Respected Principal Mrs. Beena Menon, Esteemed Quality Coordinator Smt. Jayshri Sastri, and Manager Mr. Hitesh Wagh.
The cultural programme showcased the talent and patriotic spirit of the students. Starting with the Patriotic song, followed by inspiring Speeches from the students Bhargavi (class 10th) delivered speech in English, while Swanandi (5th) and Chinmay (9th) presented a meaningful Hindi and Marathi speeches. A thought-provoking Hindi drama on humanity and standing against terrorism conveyed a strong message of peace, compassion, and unity. Students from the Primary and Secondary sections presented energetic patriotic dances, while a graceful yoga performance reflected discipline, harmony, and inner strength.
Addressing the gathering, Director Mr. Vijay Menon spoke about India’s prosperity and rich heritage, which attracted invaders on numerous occasions. He highlighted the importance of mothers, the contribution of great Indian personalities, and the fact that India’s inspirational leaders are being recognised and honoured across the world. Referring to Swami Vivekananda, he emphasised the valuable lessons India has given to humanity and encouraged everyone to understand why we should feel proud of being Indians. He urged students to value their heritage and contribute meaningfully to the progress of the nation.
Director Dr. Hema Menon shared an inspiring vision of India becoming a global superpower. She emphasised that this vision can be achieved through unity, dedication, hard work, and collective responsibility. She administered a pledge, encouraging every member of the school community to work with unity for the progress and development of the country.
The celebration also included the presentation of 100% Attendance Awards, recognising students for their commitment, regularity, and discipline. The performances and presentations were warmly applauded by the gathering. The programme concluded with the National Song. Anchoring was done by Miss. Shrawasti and Miss. Ishita. The Vote of Thanks was delivered by School Captain Miss. Anvesha Khade, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, management, teachers, Staff, students, and everyone who contributed to the success of the celebration.
The Independence Day celebration concluded with a renewed spirit of patriotism, unity, responsibility, and pride in the nation, inspiring everyone to work together towards building a stronger, progressive, and prosperous India.
